OPC Reformer Teacher Program FAQs
About this FAQ
This is a compiled list of frequently asked questions for The OPC Reformer Apprenticeship Program. If you have anything else you’re wondering about, please email
Donelle Gregston at
donnelleyogi@gmail.com and we’ll get you squared away.
Testing Costs
- Is the NCPT exam fee included in tuition?
- No, the NCPT exam fee is separate. Tuition prepares you for the exam, but you’ll register and pay for it directly through the National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP). This keeps fees transparent and ensures you’re paying the testing organization directly.
- Exams for the certification program itself are included
Scheduling Details
- How often are in-person sessions? Can I do this if I work full-time?
- Most students complete in-person training in evenings and/or weekends so it works around full-time jobs. A training calendar will be provided with plenty of notice, and open studio hours allow for flexible practice.
Online vs. In-Person Balance
- What is the time aspect for online vs. in-person training?
- Local students will have more opportunities to schedule in-studio options. The program can also be done online via Zoom with a qualified reformer and Pilates equipment at home. We’ll work with each student to make sure all in-person requirements meet training standards.
Business Mentorship Opportunity
- What if I want to open my own studio or run my own Pilates business?
- During the last 6 months of your program, you’ll meet with the Program Director to discuss your professional goals. If you decide to pursue your own studio or business, you’ll have the opportunity to continue with a structured business mentorship after graduation. This extension helps you plan, prepare, and launch with confidence.
Payment Plan Specifics
- Is tuition pay-as-you-go or locked in?
- Tuition is $221/month for 24 months regardless of how quickly you progress. This covers the full 24-month window, all training materials, and access to instructors—even if you finish early.
- There are no cancellations or refunds once committed.
- Materials covered in the course cannot be duplicated or replicated, but will remain yours to use as resources post-graduation.
Equipment Requirements
- If I’m practicing at home, what equipment do I need?
- Required: Mat, Magic Circle, Ball, and Band.
- Optional: A reformer for deeper at-home practice. At OPC, all equipment is available during open practice hours.
Credential Scope
- Will I be certified in all Pilates apparatus or just Reformer + Mat?
- You’ll be trained in Mat, Magic Circle, Spine Corrector, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Reformer, and Trapeze/Tower. This is a comprehensive certification, not just a Reformer cert.
Career Potential
- What can I actually do with this certification?
- Teach at studios nationwide (LA, NYC, Austin, Chicago, etc.)
- Apply for high-paying Pilates instructor positions
- Open your own studio with full credibility
- Continue advanced education at national conventions and workshops
- Launch your own home-based Pilates program
- Your training meets the highest national standards, so you can confidently step into the Pilates industry anywhere.
